Burning eyes, wanting cries, Lost in wards or schools or corridors. Barely clothed and barely disappointed. Want is living, want is all. Speed kids. Wanting cries, hallow dreams died. Thrown to a street crowd that shouts, Naked, no home, and transparent kicks. Haunt is living, want is all. Speed kids. Speed kids, clowns for ash and chalk. Speed kids, drowned on the shores. Speed kids, turn around, turn around. Speed kids, abound and abundant encore. Speed kids, wound in wanting more. (Lyrics: Susie Jones)

about

Object #1 was written, arranged and recorded between 7pm and 10pm on the 6th of November 2019 by the musicians involved, completely live and completely improvised.

The inspiration for each piece of music came from a phrase or word chosen at random from a pack of "mood" cards which each player then interpreted in whatever way they decided.

Dave played a Fender bass through various pedals. Matt played a Godin Archtop guitar with various devices through a chameleon Labs tube mic. Rob played a Hofner guitar through a peavey amp mic'd with a Shure SM57. Susie used her voice and other objects through a Rode condenser mic, a Digitech delay and occasional Fuzz Face. It was recorded through a Steinberg UR-RT4 in to Cubase and mixed using Waves and TDR plugins.

"Don't play whats there, play whats not there." (Miles Davis)
